Health Benefits of Interior Plantscapes is their cost effectiveness

Hiring an indoor plantscape is one way of saving your business money. Good business managers do not wait for a recession before looking at their outgoings to see where savings can be made.

Plants create energy savings, productivity savings and cleaner air.

Increased productivity leads to increased profits and one way to increase productivity is to decrease sick days. Studies show that the introduction of indoor potted plants leads to increased employee well being and reduced sick days. There is a growing number of Australian businesses introducing interior plantscapes because, truth be known, more profits can be made through increasing productivity and also, employers in the 21st century realise employees are the business' most valuable asset.

Yes, there is a growing body of international scientific research supporting the positive effects of live indoor plants on human health and well being and this is many employers' motivation for choosing live plants combined with the associated cost savings to the business.

How much time to you spend Indoors?

The proportion of the Australian population living in urban areas is between 80 and 90 percent, and we city-dwellers spend an amazing 90 per cent of time indoors. Air Quality is a Health Issue

Urban air quality (IAQ), in Australia as elsewhere, remains a health issue, and since we city dwellers spend 90% of our time indoors, that is where we breathe most of our air, which is even more polluted than outdoors. Urban outdoor air pollution is mainly caused by petroleum-based vehicle and other emissions.

According to the NSW EPA, air pollution is estimated to kill at least 1,400 people per annum in Sydney alone (which according to Dr Margaret Burchett, indoor air quality expert, is about equal to the total number of road deaths per annum in the whole of Australia). Qualified research has shown that indoor plants can remove a number of urban air pollutants, including nitrogen and sulphur oxides, "air toxics" and fine particulates (organic dust).
